Lip Moisturisers
The lips are extremely vulnerable to environmental conditions. They do not have protective layers or oil glands unlike the rest of the skin on the body. Exposure to cold, wind, air conditioning, and sun can reduce the moisture on the lips causing dryness and chaffing. To avoid moisture loss, protect lips by applying lip balm or petroleum jelly.

Applying a lip balm
Petroleum jelly is effective at repairing chapped, scaly lips. Apply it on lips and use a soft toothbrush to massage the lips. Wipe the excess off with soft tissue or damp cloth. A lip product that moisturises as well as protects from UV rays is ideal. Look for those with titanium dioxide or zinc oxide because these are sunscreens that provides protection for your lips. Some lip moisturisers contain vegetable oil that soothes and regenerates the lips.
