Keeping Healthy Nails
It is highly important to keep the nails healthy. They protect the toes and fingers, which have so many nerve endings, from injury. Did you know that the condition of the nails tells a lot about the overall health of the body? Healthy nails are pink in colour indicating a rich blood supply. Changes in the appearance and texture of the nails normally signify nutritional deficiencies and illnesses such as dryness and brittleness (Vitamin A and calcium deficiency), hangnails (vitamin C, folic acid, and protein deficiency), white bands (protein deficiency), discolouration and splitting (vitamin B12 deficiency), and white spots (zinc deficiency).

Clean and healthy nails
To keep the nails healthy, eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Keep rehydrated and take plenty of liquids. Do not cut cuticles, but soak them in warm water or olive oil and then gently push them back. Do not constantly use nail polish, colour remover, or fake nails. Whenever possible, wear protective gloves when working.
