Applying Eyeliner

It takes steady, creative hands to precisely put on eye liner. Eye liner is vital in defining the eyes. Curl the lashes before applying the liner. Dust powder on the lids so the liner sticks longer. Use liquid liner for neat, straight lines and pencils for soft, subtle lines. Stabilise the hand by resting the elbow on a hard surface. Start liner application in the middle of the eyelid towards the inner corner of the eye. Go back to the middle of the eyelid and drag the liner towards the outer corner of the eye. Draw the line closer to the lashes. Clear out smudges using a dampened Q-tip.

Defining the eyes

For close-set eyes, use dark liner on the outer third of the upper eyelid and smudge lightly. Use light liner on the inner eye. For small eyes, draw a dark line that gradually thickens on the outer edge of the eye. Draw line under lower lash using light pencil liner. For deep-set eyes, use pale, shimmery liner to line upper lash and line outer edge of lower lash with soft, neutral shade. For drooping eyes, line outer third of the eye close to the lashes and sweeping the liner up at the outer corner of the eye.
